This website, REITMedia.com, is about leveraging open-source software. We rely on a vast array of proven technologies that run many other big traffic web sites. Why open source? We believe the community approach allows for better overall software quality - more people working on the software yields a better product; quicker responses to problems than commercial-ware; and it allows for a cost-effective infrastructure.Here's the 30,000 foot view... We service basic browser requests and XML web services with Apache and PHP. We store our data in a mySQL database. We run all of this on Linux. Our content is powered by sNews. sNews is the greatest and simplest little content management system (CMS). We really dig sNews because it provides our developers with a framework to build upon.
