Alexandria Real Estate Raises Quarterly Dividend 3 Percent to 76 Cents Per Share 
PASADENA, CA (REIT Media) June 18, 2007 - Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (NYSE:ARE) announced today that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of 76 cents per common share for the second quarter of 2007. The dividend is payable on July 13, 2007 to shareholders of record on July 2, 2007.
"We are pleased to announce a 3% increase in our quarterly cash dividend declared to common shareholders for the second quarter of 2007. The dividend increase reflects, in part, Alexandria's continued growth in funds from operations, while maintaining a very conservative payout ratio of approximately 58.1% as of March 31, 2007, which is among the lowest in the REIT industry," said Joel S. Marcus, Chief Executive Officer of Alexandria.
Alexandria also announced that its Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of 52.34375 cents per share for the second quarter of 2007 for its 8.375% Series C Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock. The dividend is payable on July 13, 2007 to preferred shareholders of record on July 2, 2007.
