LONG BEACH, CA (REIT Media) April 24, 2008 - HCP (NYSE:HCP) announced the election of Lauralee E. Martin to the Company's Board of Directors. With the election of Ms. Martin, HCP continues to have eleven directors, nine of whom are independent. Ms. Martin is a member of HCP’s Audit Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Ms. Martin has served as a director and the Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE:JLL), the world’s leading real estate services and money management firm, since 2005. She has also served as a director of KeyCorp (NYSE:KEY ), one of the nation’s largest bank-based financial services companies, since 2004. From 1994 through 2005, she served on the Board of Directors of Gables Residential Trust, a luxury apartment REIT. Ms. Martin joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer after 15 years with Heller Financial, Inc., where she was the Chief Financial Officer and President of the Real Estate Finance Division.
